Tips For Better Readings

So, itʻs been a bit of a bumpy road for me. After the birth of my daughter. Iʻve decided to go back to doing readings. My first two back were disastrous. Why? Because the ladies simply asked me to do too much.
What do I mean?
Lady number one asked, "Will there be money in my future?" Yes! Unless you just curl up in bed and DO NOTHING There will always be money in your future. I said, "have you been to school?" I heard rumblings. She then said yes and ASSUMED I had nothing more to say.
Lady Number Two said "People are calling my house, why?" Now, two things happened here. I saw her husband was hurt (emotionally) and I saw that these were just hurtful pranks. I tried to steer her toward the idea of comforting her husband, she cursed at me and hung up. Reactions like the latter make me not want to read even though I feel its what Iʻm "meant" to do. Literally, I feel this pull and nagging feeling when I say "Iʻm not going to read"

I was put on this earth to inspire and help.

That being said here are some helpful Tips for getting a reading from me and other Readers.
Calm down I know your question is important. But, breathe and relax. Its really easy to pick up your emotions. So, while keen is connecting us. Take a deep breathe and focus. Donʻt assume Just because one reader saw one thing doesnʻt mean all of us will.Some of us might see the same thing but in a different way! Yes, use a set of readers who have proven themselves to be good. If all your readers say bob is faithful...TRUST that. Donʻt call until you find the one that agrees with your fear. Action So many times i hear "That reader was wrong cause x didnʻt come back to me" and I say this: The Universe has limitless power but we limit it with our choices and actions. Did you simply wait for x to call? or did you TRY to call him. Did you start dating y while pining for x? Iʻm not saying be obsessive, but donʻt expect all those things to happen with out effort from you. Remember my line about money!

Coming Around

I'm continually amazed at how much Twitter can make me think. This tweet in particular summed up how I view tarot reading and why I got so disheartened reading for others. "A reading which does not completely change someones perspective on life is a wasted opportunity" -Tarosophy.

People use me like a magic 8 ball. I'm not. I like reading for people it makes me feel like I'm helping people. My clients are important to me but when I fail to guide them I myself feel like a failure. Before my grandmother's death I failed one of my clients. So, I stopped.

Then I realized even in my fiction I've been trying to come to my purpose. I'd given myself a saucy alter ego in Lux and reached a truth.

“What?” she asked, blinking up at me.

“Sorry, right. I want to, let me start at the top. In coming to me you are looking to change your mutable future.”

“What?” she asked again, looking even more confused. I always hated that, it was like people never listened to what I was saying.

“I’m a witch doctor,” I said, making sure I evenly spaced out the words so there would be no confusion. “See, a tarot reader will tell you your future. Boom. That’s it. I, however, can do something more,” I said. It wasn’t ego. I really could. If I had to, I could even go through hell and back, if it was required. Though, the fees would be a right bitch.

Yes, I can tell you the future to a degree. But, I'd rather focus on how to change yourself and the circumstances in your life. Tarot is a stethoscope to the soul.

I have been troubled by this because we have known each other for 10 years, and I still have a deep sense of connection. I attempted to bury the hatchet recently by leaving a voicemail message, but I have not had a reply. I feel like this relationship may be lost forever with no chance for reconciliation or closure."

TG Answers: Reconciliation is in fact possible. However it's going to take a lot of work. You will have to be patient do not try to "speed things up" that's a big mistake.
Yes, when he can get his head back on together. It might take a while while everything calms down. The other issue is. stubbornness will be the cause of any lack of movement forward. Don't read anything into what he's saying or not saying.

Thoughts In My Head

As I was sitting down to write this, I saw a quote on Twitter:


"The only thing that matters is where you choose to be in your life right now."

My great grandmother died two weeks ago. It's been an uphill battle, with five aunts and my dad. I've finally made it around to talk about it. I was helping take care of her. It was tough dealing with that and my tarot clients. I did it, I put family first. I adore the people who are my clients but, my family needed me more.

Dad says he felt a supreme calm come over him. He's also been getting work hand over fist now. Our family dog, Holly, spent the day staring at the wall. (She was my puppy when I lived at home.) My dad is a believer in the after life.

It's been a strange September. I miss my grandmother but it is truly better. Watching my family made me realize a lot. I'm tired of living my life for others. I now had sometime to to sit and think, so I did. Living my life for myself is not selfish. Choosing to live a life without my boys because other girls choose one so I should too seems wrong. Not having pink hair because other mothers (or tarot readers) don't is truly wrong.

I vowed to live a life that makes me happy.Even if it might be unconventional. I don't want to regret not being myself. The road I was on would've lead me there. I want to find out what happens choosing happiness. I figured I'd write about my journey so you all could read along.

Stalking Time Week Two

Closing the door to the Tardis, the Doctor swung about extending his arms in a grand gesture. “It’s just you and me now, Sexy. The kids are off doing whatever it is the kids do these days, and you and I can go have a grand old adventure.”

He ran up the stairs towards the control panel, spinning dials, flipping switches and pulling levers. “Let’s see, how about, the Krovik Penal Colony in the Getamene Cluster? During the revolt. That should be exciting,” he said as the Tardis started to hum and whir.

What he didn’t notice was the change on the destination screen.

Taroscopes June 6-13

Gemini:
Trust is a two-way street. Don’t expect to get something for nothing for too much longer. If you don’t reciprocate, you’re going to find yourself missing out on a good thing. The next thing isn’t always the better thing.

Cancer:
Sometimes that perfect person has been in our lives the entire time. You might have written them off because they weren’t a certain type, or because they were a bit daft. Whatever the reason was, just be glad that reason is gone now.

Everyone loves you, although it might not be for the reason you think. Make sure you like what you see when you look in the mirror. The only person that has to live with it is you. Who cares what your friends think?

Imagine the nerve her complaining I wasn't the Doctor she knew, I mean really. It was just a simple regeneration, I'm still the Doctor. In fact, I'm even more clever than I used to be. I even dress better. Cricket uniforms, how absurd.
Silly girl, simply doesn't understand Gallifreyian physiology. It's a shame really. I ought to explain it to her. No time like the present. What is that I hear? Sobbing? Why?

Taroscopes 1/3-1/8

Taurus.
Now is a time for rest, but this doesn’t mean you should stop completely. Breaks are breaks, not stops. Remember that and it will serve you well. Also, just because someone is dating doesn’t mean they will get married; bide your time.

Gemini.
It’s hard to make a choice when you don’t know what it is you want, let alone need. No one will blame you for your choice. Whatever you do stop collecting options. People are starting to feel like you’re using them, so just take a step back.

Cancer.
You’re being stubborn and not realizing this obstacle is really a wake up call. Sure, it might not seem bad to lose pants when your girlfriend’s husband comes home early, but it will only get worse. Get out while you can.

Leo.
You recycle. You bathe. You own all the latest gadgets. Why aren’t you married yet? Sometimes you have to get dirty and go look for love. The universe won’t just drop lovers in your lap. Go out! Take your iPod and catch a show or something.

Virgo.

You always say, “If I had a chance…” What you fail to realize is that you do! Sometimes in life the only chances we get are the ones we make for ourselves. You are not any different. Write an ode to the coffee kiosk girl if you love her so much.

Stalking Time

To illustrate how the Tarot can apply to everyone in any situation, and to have a little bit of fun. I present Stalking Time. My Doctor Who themed Tarot story telling extravaganza!

Here's what to expect. The issues of Stalking Time will be in Drabble format, that means they'll be around 100-200 words. Each one will be based on a Tarot card drawn mostly at random from a deck of my choosing.

In these drabbles, each incarnation of the Doctor will be represented over time. I'll be jumping from Doctor to Doctor without having consecutive Doctors in a row. Each Doctor will have his own story (11 stories all together). For example all stories involving the 5th Doctor will be a single on-going story that will take on more independence from the other 10 stories.

Stories will be updated bi-weekly.

Taroscopes 4/25-1/2

Cancer-- Ever feel like you're trapped in a Gatorade commercial? Ride that energy, but watch where you direct it. You don't want anyone to get hurt.
Leo-- What's the moral of the story? Once you figure that out, you'll have won more than you bargained for in the beginning. It'll stick with you better that way.
Virgo--Don't let anyone fight your battles for you. If you're not careful, you can have your words twisted and used against you. Make sure you say what you mean.
Libra-- Loss is in your life, but don't let it define you. The more you get caught up in what you've lost, you will be blind to what can be found.
Scorpio-- Now is the time to act, but you might not be ready for it. If you absolutely have to, make sure you don't waste too much time or effort on it.
Sagitarrius- Expect a return on your investments. What you've put in has matured and is ready to be cultivated. This is a good time to put back into your plans.
Aquarius-- The rains have come, the silt has washed away, and the flowers are blooming. Don't forget to stop and smell them. Let go of the rain, it's gone.
Capricorn-- There's a challenge ahead that will get the better of you if you don't get some help in confronting it. Be careful on who you ask for help from though.
Pisces-- Just because there's no easy way out, doesn't mean you can't change the situation you're in. You just have to deal with it first before moving on.
Aries-- Things aren't working out the way you want them to. It's not that you're not trying, but maybe you're trying too hard. Take a step back and figure out what's not working.
Taurus-- The trappings of the world are keeping you down. Don't worry about it so much. There are things out of your control, just let them slide.
Gemini-- There are dark clouds overhead. Things aren't as good as you had hoped, and could be even worse. How you handle that is up to you, but they will pass eventually.

Re-Organizing Life.

After being sick for two weeks it became apparent that perhaps I needed to re-organize my life so I could take more time to rest. Sure, sickness can be caused by viruses. But, sometimes what keeps sick longer is the fact that we just won't rest!
I know I always feel like I have to keep going and going.

Now, I don't have to give up my projects just schedule my time better. Take for example moving publishing Sins on Wednesday instead of Sunday. It gives me less to do on the weekend. Look at your to-do list and see where you can make changes.

Everything was getting crowded together on the weekend. I was doing tarotscopes on Friday, my radio show on Saturday, and Sins on Sunday. This meant that I had a whole week to get things done and prepared, but life doesn't always work that way. Not only that, but being a mom endeavors to take as much of my free time as it can. No big deal, like I said, it's all about better time management.

Moving Sins to Wednesday actually allows me to have a chance to do things on the weekend with my family.

It's always the little things that seem obvious when you do them that seemed impossible but weeks ago. I felt that I needed to have all this time to work on everything, but I would more often than not get everything tripping on itself. Like I mentioned before, life doesn't always go according to plan.

Hopefully, this will help ease the deadline angst and make it so I can continue to provide quality work on a regular basis.

More News!

Delays & Setbacks

To all Tarot Geek readers, of which I'm sure there are literally tens of you, and I love you all. I'm sorry I've been quiet on the Taroscopes but, my beloved macbook has died and I'm awaiting repairs. I'm on a loaner laptop. I'm ashamed to admit the thing is giving me fits.

I'm getting more acclimated to using this thing so Taroscopes next week. In their longer format. I'm also proud to be announcing a rather fun addition to Tarot Geek. Time Stalking.

Just what is that you ask?

100+ word drabbles written by me to illustrate the myriad of meanings a tarot card (or cards) can take, using the many faces of everyone's favorite Time Lord. That's right Doctor Who fan fiction with a mystical purpose!

Why?
Because I can, and want to. Also not everyone, or every incarnation deals with things in the same ways. I can use 78 cards to tell numerous stories. I'm trying to get more people to see things differently.

Onto the first ever Tarot Geek Reading!

Reader Question: I have been thinking about what to do for work and out of nowhere I am getting a lot of encouragement to take the paralegal courses at the community college-- Should I do it?

TG Answer: I like answering these questions, I really do. It would seem the universe is doing everything but smacking you in the face with a lawyer's yellow page ad. Now, what would be the harm in taking the free course? You do it you hate it you move on. But, I'll bet you a cookie, you'll find you like it. You seem like the kind of guy who really helps people. For as much as the whole legal gets made fun of I've had some great things happen because of good lawyer's. Paralegals too. Also remember you can use paralegal work as a test to see if you want to be a lawyer, it's never too late.

Taroscopes Jan.29th-Feb 5th

Cancer-- Things are going your way this week. Your powers are in full swing. Don't get too caught up in it though.
Leo-- There's nothing wrong with getting out of the situation you're in and recentering yourself. The fresh perspective will do you a world of good.
Virgo-- Take joy in your loved ones. They're keeping you at your best. Make sure they know how much you appreciate them.
Libra--The grass may or may not be greener on the other side. Once you've made your decision, stick with it. Otherwise you'll worry yourself to death.
Scorpio-- Just because you can see your success on the horizon doesn't mean you should get complacent. Stay alert and keep your head about you to keep the journey smooth.
Sagitarrius--Don't listen to 'yes' men blindly. Look for more critical advice when you need it, avoid people who just tell you what you want to hear.
Aquarius-- Don't buy into your own hype. Just because you might be good at something is no reason to let it go to your head.
Capricorn-- Your last endeavor went well, why not build on it. Strike while the iron is hot, and carry that momentum all the way to the finish line.
Pisces-- Just because things are bad now, doesn't mean they can't get better. Find the worst part of your life and focus on getting that out of your life.
Aries-- Abundance is on your doorstep. the only question is if you'll be open and receptive to letting it in.
Taurus--Just because you may have fallen off the horse does not mean it's time to head down to the glue factory. Dust yourself off and climb on up again.
Gemini--Believe. That feeling in the pit of your stomach is your guiding sense. Don't ignore a vital, living part of yourself.

Taroscopes Jan.19th-25th

*Sorry I'm a little late. I was feeling the blahs myself.

Aries- This phrase may apply, I can’t stop when it comes to you. Whoever that person is give them some space. Focus on the tasks at hand that to do list won’t get any shorter. Make sure your weekend is free.

Taurus- Last week was last week. You’re only as good as your next book as authors like to say. Remember that keep that fighting spirit. It helps to stay focused on goals so, write them down.

Gemini- Stop blaming your sign for your lack of ability to make choices it all you. Just look at your options carefully. Remember you can always explore the road not taken later. If you don’t go for it you’ll just miss out.

Cancer- Take stock in what you have. Someone in your life misses you, call them. They can offer good advice and perhaps hot coca. Accept them, let them in. A real ray of sunshine, you could use that.

Leo- Winter blues got you down? Nothing lasts forever, especially winter spring will be here soon. In the meantime, store up some extra cash you’ve got coming and go on trip later. Somewhere sunny should do the trick, yes?

Virgo- Gotten creative lately? Keep with it, it’s suiting you. That glow you’ve been giving off is amazing. You may find people are beating down your door to be with you. Be careful to choose wisely.

Libra- Being coy and subtle usually work for you. But, it’s time to be bold. Do something to catch someone’s attention. It’s time for you to push forward. No more rules, let’s break them and see where you get.

Scorpio- Fire! When you’re hot, you should do some cooking. Seriously, you want to please or attract that special someone, get thee to the kitchen! You may find the role shake up a welcome change.

Sagittarius- Rain or arrows, nothing is going right this week. Please don’t let that get you down. As they say smile though your heart is breaking. I promise it will be easier to get through it. Do something frivolous, you’ll feel better.

Capricorn- Kiss and make up with that certain someone. You need to learn to be forgiven you must forgive also. Sure, they may have wronged you but, isn’t it better to be the bigger person? Don’t forget flowers.

Aquarius- Do you often feel out of sync with the world? Revel in it, no one sees the world quite like you do. So why not enlighten us? Show loved ones how you see the world, it’ll help them understand you.

No More Horoscopes!

Horoscopes!
Everyone checks them out at some point. Maybe in fun or because you believe them. Today the world of Astrology got rocked. Cha-Cha-Changes. Now, This changes no one's natal chart. I'm not in a rush to proclaim I'm Virgo. I will always be a Libra! This does however make not want to write horoscopes. Mostly because everyone seems to be in an uproar.

I'll say it this way, If you are [fill in sign here] and you've embraced it, stick with it. Just because the stars change position doesn't mean you have to! Astrologers have been noting changes in the stars for centuries. You are who are, just like I'll always be a Libra.

That being said, in learning both Astrology and Tarot I've found Tarot to be the more accurate for predictory arts and advice. So, now I'll be serving up hot little taroscopes. I'll still use traditional zodiac names, so no tricky math to do.

Horoscopes for January 8th- January 15th

Aries- Stop and think. Have you been being selfish? We all are sometimes it’s true but you’ve got to learn when enough is enough. Give a little love before you push everyone who loves you away. You can stop this.

Taurus- Some weeks are made of pure bliss. This is one of those weeks, it may seem like nothing will get you. Love is in the air drink it in and bask. You should know that better than anyone.

Gemini- You’ve shot your arrows into the air, but you know the problem with that? Some are bound to hit you. Something about slings and arrows but, I forget. Don’t give up though it is all worth it.

Cancer- Does Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds always play in your head? Your friends and family sure will want to know your secret. If you’re unable to see the good yet just grab some tunes and relax.

Leo-Just because you’re doing more and more work doesn’t mean it won’t pan out in the end. You’ll reap what you sow. Harvesting does take time, don’t forget that. Party while you wait it’ll be fun.

Virgo- Masters of the universe, does that phrase ring a bell? Contrary to popular belief, the world was not built in a matter of days. You have the power to move mountains, it’s just going to take some time.

Libra- You’re usually right. Do us a favor and admit when you’re wrong. Nobody expects you to know everything all of the time. Knowing when to stop and save some face is the key to your success in the future.

Scorpio- Don’t let your ego get the better of you, Slick. You have some decisions to make. Don’t assume anyone wants to make them for you.You’re not that good be careful and make all choices based on intellect

Sagittarius- Getting your way often leads to a winner’s outlook. This week unfortunately you might have bitten off more than you can chew. Stop pussyfooting around and play the cards you’re dealt already.

Capricorn- Sweetie, you should know sitting still only leaves you in the lurch right? Alice fell down a hole, you just take one step. One step can shake things up? Don’t believe me? Try a jaunty little jig, I promise no one is looking.

Aquarius- Maybe you’ve been wanting to contact your old boyfriend or friend from camp back in the day you never wrote to again. Whatever it is, a little search engine magic should help you get your goal completed.

Pisces- Did you really need to eat that entire chocolate cake? Probably not, but it tasted damn good, didn’t it? You can always start your diet this week. Nobody will tell. Just keep hard at it and you can make your resolution.
